This event presents and discusses one of the key challenges of cloud computing, which is defining successful business models and architectures for value creation in the enterprise. At this nascent stage both SMEs and large enterprises are just beginning to adopt cloud technologies, as CIOs and IT managers learn about how they can deploy the cloud in their organizations it will create business opportunities for startups and entrenched players to develop business models that are successful in serving their customers as well leading to the success of their own companies. The panel will be composed of successful venture investors from the Indian venture capital industry as well as founders of cloud startups and technology professionals from companies in India that are competing in this space to win customers.

I wanted to write a technical book for a long time. Though some of the well known publishers approached me, I never mustered enough courage to sign up and commit to them. With a full time job and a busy schedule, I am not sure if I would be able to meet the deadlines and deliver it on time. For the last couple of months, I have been working on authoring my first eBook. This gave me the flexibility of working at my own pace to put together the chapters.

‘Demystifying The Cloud’ has 6 chapters. The first three chapters focus on the core concepts and terminologies while the rest of the chapters introduce the popular Cloud Computing stacks including Amazon Web Services, Google App Engine and Microsoft Windows Azure. This book is meant for developers who want to understand the fundamentals of Cloud Computing.

This is the first version of the eBook and I plan to update it periodically.

Having successfully delivered the first series, ‘Demystifying The Cloud’ on The Cloud9 Show, I am now working on the next series  called ‘Data as a Service’. This series will focus on the concept of Cloud Storage. Unlike the last series, this will have demos and code to explain the concept. I plan to cover storage offerings from Amazon (S3, Simple DB, SQS, RDS), Microsoft Azure (Azure Storage, SQL Azure) and Google (Big Table).

Here are some more details about the upcoming series:
