Hi! I am Janakiram; Jani to colleagues and friends.

A technologist at heart, I have been championing Distributed Computing for the last 16 years.

In my current role of an unbiased, neutral Analyst, I offer strategic advice and coaching to enterprises and startups. I help them adopt and take advantage of the cloud. Founder and driving force of an initiative called Get Cloud Ready, I enable businesses to get ready for the Cloud revolution. As the CTO of Get Cloud Ready Consulting, I lead a highly talented engineering team that focuses on developing and migrating applications to Microsoft Windows Azure, Amazon Web Services and Cloud Foundry.

My greatest imaginable dream is to continue to be the catalyst to the Cloud revolution by being an independent authority on Cloud Computing as an Analyst, a Cloud Evangelist, a Speaker, an Advisor and Mentor to startups.

I am one of the analysts at GigaOM Pro focusing on infrastructure, platforms and mobile backend services. Author of an eBook on Cloud Computing, ‘Demystifying the Cloud’ that is downloaded more than 75,000 times in 6 months, I am also the chief editor at CloudStory.in. As a passionate speaker, I have chaired the Cloud Computing track at premier events across Asia and India. Having spoken at over 50 events in 2012, I have been consistently rated as the top speaker at premier technical events. My passion for teaching led me to the guest faculty role at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) where I teach Big Data and Cloud Computing to the students enrolled for the Masters course.

I am involved in designing, developing and deploying scalable SaaS solutions on Windows Azure and AWS. I am currently engaged with the well established multi-national product companies and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) in helping them design and refactor their existing applications for the Cloud. The experience of working on a broad spectrum of platforms and technologies enables me to make the right technology decisions when defining the solution stack.

The valuable time and work done at Amazon as the Technology Evangelist and Technology Architect – Cloud at Microsoft Corporation has offered me the breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise in the Cloud Computing domain. Prior to this, for about 10 years at Microsoft Corporation, I have been involved in selling, marketing and evangelizing the Microsoft Application Platform and Tools.

Janakiram has worked at world-class product companies including Microsoft Corporation, Amazon Web Services and Alcatel-Lucent. His last role was with Amazon Web Services as the Technology Evangelist where he joined them as the first employee in India. Prior to that, Janakiram spent 10 years at Microsoft Corporation where he was involved in selling, marketing and evangelizing the Microsoft Application Platform and Tools. At the time of leaving Microsoft, he was a Technical Architect, Cloud focusing on Windows Azure.
